Proper buffers and buffer springs are necessary for your AR-15 to function properly.
The buffer serves as additional weight to aid in the cycling action of the AR-15, and it also serves as a cushion between the buffer spring and the bolt carrier group.
Two lengths:
- Rifle: For fixed stocks type A1/A2
- Carbine: For adjustable stocks.
Three weights:
- H1: Consists of one tungsten weight and two steel weights. Weight is approximately 3.8 oz. (107g)
- H2: It is usually made of two tungsten weights and one steel weight and weighs approximately 4.6 oz (130g)
- H3: It normally uses three tungsten weights for a weight of about 5.6 oz (158g)
