The bolt stop is a critical part that locks the bolt in the open position after the last cartridge.
The slide stop for 1911 is responsible for holding the slide in the open position when the magazine is empty, thus facilitating reloading and visually signaling that the weapon is ready for a new cartridge. It also allows the slide to be released for smooth and fast operation.
